Dan Shefet is a French lawyer, born in Denmark. He is the author of the individual specialist report to UNESCO on ‘Online Radicalization’, a member of the Executive Committee of Reporters without Borders and the American Law Institute, as well as author of the Report on the Internet Ombudsman for the Council of Europe. Dan specializes in European law and Human Rights as they apply to tech.

Dan will share a practitioner’s perspective in the Shifting Systems session on what's changed in 10 years since his landmark 2014 case establishing the 'right to be forgotten' on the internet as a human right, and explore future legal foundations to support organisations in their efforts to design, develop, and deploy more fair and accountable AI and LLM use in the EU.
