Giulia Testa

Rewilding Europe

Giulia (she/her) is a 27-year-old young activist for biodiversity and rewilding. Giulia has spent her school years in Canada, Italy, Norway and Finland witnessing the beauty of nature and searching for ways to save it. She has a master’s degree in Environmental Law and Policy, with a specialization in EU biodiversity and large carnivores' law. She has represented youth in EU and international decision-making arenas around biodiversity, including being a youth delegate at COPs.

Currently, she works for Rewilding Europe, a pan-European organization that is taking innovative steps and trailblazing initiatives to rewild and restore the continent, increasing the amount of land where natural processes function freely and facilitating wildlife comeback. In her role, she coordinates the youth engagement in the rewilding movement, through the European Young Rewilders, an active network that gathers all (future) young rewilders from all over Europe.

She advocates for a disruptive, forward-leaning approach to restoring degraded European landscapes by learning to trust nature again, by rethinking old paradigms, and by actively listening to and including young people’s voices.

session description

Join Giulia in the Rewilding Us session on Wednesday afternoon to learn more about rewilding as an effective, practical and inclusive way of realising nature recovery at scale – a recovery which is not only good for nature itself, but which will also help to address some of society’s most pressing challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and a wide range of socio-economic issues
